  5. Using an immersion blender, blend the soup until smooth. If you don’t have an immersion blender, you can transfer the soup to a regular blender in batches, but be sure to let it cool slightly first.
  6. Return the soup to the pot, stir in the heavy cream, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
